Earlier this month, the WAJIBU team convened a pivotal session with Mwananchi Communication Limited and journalists from community radios, as part of its 'Amka Tuonge' project implementation. The session delved into techniques for analyzing and disseminating information sourced from CAG (Controller and Auditor General) reports.

Earlier this month, the WAJIBU team convened a pivotal session with Mwananchi Communication Limited and journalists from community radios, as part of its 'Amka Tuonge' project implementation. The session delved into techniques for analyzing and disseminating information sourced from CAG (Controller and Auditor General) reports.

This training served not only to enhance participants' grasp of accountability-based journalism but also to amplify their voices in advocating for the implementation of CAG recommendations. Moreover, it aimed to raise awareness among citizens, empowering them to demand accountability from public officials regarding the utilization of public resources and the provision of social services.

To achieve youth engagement in Public Financial Accountability matters, WAJIBU conducts accountability essay competitions to encourage the active participation of youth in critical thinking to address societal issues (Public Financial Management). These competitions intend to provide platforms for the youth to express their ideas, perspectives, and solutions related to governance and corruption, thus contributing to the development of a more accountable and transparent society.

CALL FOR JOURNALISTS: STRENGTHENING PUBLIC FINANCIAL GOVERNANCE THROUGH MEDIA

WAJIBU and Policy Forum, with funding from the European Union, are implementing a two year governance project (2025 - 2027) to enhance transparency, accountability and citizen participation in public financial governance across Tanzania. As part of this initiative, we invite passionate journalists to join the Public Financial Governance Program to sharpen their skills in investigating, analyzing and reporting on financial governance, resource mobilization and corruption. Apply by 10th April 2025.
